Custom Work Terms of Service

 
Design Deposit:  This $300 deposit is non-refundable, and goes towards the total balance of the completed project.
 
Deliverables:  Included in the cost of your custom piece is the initial consultation (30 minute remote sessions), a design mock-up, one round of modifications prior to moving to production, and confirmation of the design via emailed CAD drawing.  Once the final design is confirmed and approved in writing via email we will move to production.   Changes cannot be submitted beyond this point without incurring any additional costs.  Any requested modifications outside of the approval process will be at the Client's expense.
 
Disclaimers:  While working with heirloom material, W&H is not responsible for stones or settings that chip, break, bend or are damaged.  Client understands that working with heirloom material is "at risk" and W&H will not be liable for any damage that may occur during the production process.  Please be mindful that it is important to add fine jewelry to a homeowners, renters, or individual policy; this will protect against loss, damage or theft of jewelry.
 
Shipping: Waffles & Honey ships projects and materials internally using UPS and FedEx. All shipments are insured up to $10,000 usd. If your heirloom piece requires additional insurance for us to ship internally, please notify W&H. All shipments from W&H are insured with UPS or FedEx and require a customer signature for delivery.
 
Payments: Typical payment schedules for custom projects are as follows:
Payment 1:  50% deposit due after CAD design files are approved.
Payment 2: The remaining balance due prior to any jewelry shipment or pick up
The client is responsible for paying outstanding/final balance within 7 business days of project completion.
Clients are responsible for paying sales tax on all items purchased.
By paying the deposit, the client understands and agrees with all the terms and conditions listed on this page.
 
Timeline for Custom Projects:  Timelines are estimates and are not guaranteed.  Typically the timeline for custom projects is 6-10 weeks but can vary depending on sourcing availability, response times, and holiday schedules. 
 
Craftsmanship
W&H guarantees against all defects of materials and craftsmanship of our jewelry, but it does not cover normal wear and tear, neglect, or accidental damage. Normal wear and tear would be considered scratches or dents in metals and softer stones, flattened/worn prongs, etc.
We recommend having your jewelry inspected every six months to 1 year to keep it in good condition.
Please be mindful that it is important to add fine jewelry to a homeowners, renters, or individual policy; this will protect against loss, damage or theft of jewelry.  
Should repairs be needed, it is the client’s responsibility to ship and insure the piece(s); W&H Jewelry will return jewelry via USP or FedEx.
 
Repairs
W&H guarantees the structural integrity of all jewelry for one year from delivery date.
Gemstones and diamonds are not under warranty.  Please be mindful that it is important to add fine jewelry to a homeowners, renters, or individual policy; this will protect against loss, damage or theft of jewelry. 
Should repairs be needed, please contact info@wafflesandhoney.com and we will assist in providing shipping labels and instructions. 
 
Resizing
We provide one complimentary resizing per ring for our clients (when the receiver is not present for initial sizing).
If you need further resizing, there is a fee associated with that. 
Some styles do not allow for resizing, please mention potential resizing needs during the initial design process.
Resizing or repairing your piece at a local jeweler voids the W&H warranty.
 
Appraisals
W&H offers appraisals through an independent appraiser.
Complimentary appraisals are included for all projects priced over $6,000. 
 
Returns/Refunds
Waffles & Honey does not offer returns or refunds on custom jewelry.  All custom projects and designs are final sale.
